There are so many DIY glass cleaner recipes on the internet all of which contain vinegar – and I am definitely not saying that vinegar doesn’t clean windows well because it is one of the best ingredients you can use when cleaning your home, however, I do hate the smell of it and I refuse to use it. But at the same time, I love making my own cleaners using different household ingredients. So this forced me to come up with creative and unique recipes that work just as well as the ones containing vinegar. Thankfully, after half a year I managed to figure out how to clean my windows without vinegar… and it turns out that all I needed was black tea!
Yes, it sounds pretty bizarre – cleaning with black tea, but it does work super well so don’t knock it until you try it! If you are just like me and you can’t stand the smell of vinegar then this recipe is perfect for you. You will still achieve spotless windows (or mirrors) but you will avoid the smell of vinegar!
Here Is My Recipe!
You need to prepare 4 bags of black tea, a cup of boiling water, and a spray bottle. You need to use black tea – nothing else will work!
Then mix the four bags of tea with the boiling water and leave them for 15 minutes. Then get rid of the tea bags and let the tea cool down completely before you pour it into your spray bottle.
I recommend you store this DIY cleaner in the fridge to extend its shelf life, however, since the recipe I gave you has only one glass of water, you will probably use it in a few days. Just make sure you take it out of the fridge a few hours before you use it because it needs to be at room temperature in order for it to work!
And if you are wondering how to use it, simply spray the glass surface with it then wipe with a microfiber cloth… and that’s it!
