There are so many items in your home that need regular cleaning and maintenance that you have probably never even thought of cleaning the ice maker of your fridge. Am I right? I know that I cleaned mine maybe a year or two after I bought my fridge. And guess what – I came to the conclusion that if I don’t take proper care of the ice maker it turns into a filthy dirty mess.
How To Clean The Ice Maker Of Your Fridge With A Steam Cleaner?
You are probably looking at your screen weird… cleaning an ice maker with steam? I know it’s bizarre but it’s probably the most effective and easy method you can apply. You will save so much time and effort because you won’t be scrubbing and wiping the ice maker for hours – and this is why I decided to give this hack a try in the first place. And to my surprise, it worked very well!
Start off with filling the steam machine with distilled water and letting it heat up. Then add the most suitable attachment in your kit.
And then just start spraying the ice maker covering every hard-to-reach area that is most likely covered in dirt, stains, and impurities.
I highly recommend you place towels underneath the fridge because it is going to start dripping dirty nasty water and it will make an even bigger mess on your floor. The towel will soak up that water so it won’t go onto the floor.
And once you are done, you can spray the ice maker with a bit of vinegar and then wipe it with a clean cloth so you get rid of any residue from the dirty water.
